Pack up our troubles...

We're on the move again - some would call five times in five years an addiction.

We spent Saturday packing boxes, and wrapping every possession we own in bubble wrap.

We had planned to pay professionals to do the packing but after we got the quote we realised it would be cheaper to fund the first manned space flight from the UK.

So our flat has become cardboard city and bubble wrap world.

Each time we move we swear it will be the last.

But this time.....

Here ComesThe Flood

Well, I wished for some cooler weather... and here it is. Of course, the rain always seems to fall during Wimbledon week and the start of Glastonbury.

Contrast our camping experience last week with the state of the pitches at Glastonbury.

Not my idea of a festival!

London's melting

A week of fantastic weather, the mercury pushing past 30 degrees celsius and the friction has started.

I've already seen one row on the bus, sparked by almost nothing, and I'm feeling pretty irritable myself. I felt like a boil in the bag curry as I travelled home on the bus tonight, the tiny windows letting barely a breathe of air in.

And as the picture shows - the heat is shrinking people.

Thankfully, the humidity is expected to lift tonight. And with it the tensions...

I'm not saying it's like Do The Right Thing.... but it is hot.

Carry on camping

A glorious weekend, started with a meal out with friends in Soho, ended in the sunshine of east Dorset.

Chris and Rachel gave their first work out to their VW camper van, and despite a few teething problems, the "beast" was a roaring success.

We took the tent, and pitched up on a funny old campsite that was "adults only".

Thankfully, no sign of swingers!!!

We chilled, drank wine, played triv and scoffed a barbecue.

Such weekends of constant laughter are rare and to be treasured. Here's to plenty more.

Under canvas

Goody and I are off camping this weekend with friends Chris and Rachel. They'll be roadtesting their VW camper van, while we'll be under canvas giving the tent it's first airing of the year.

We're heading down to the New Forest and the weather promises to be sweltering hot.

Given that the camper van doesn't do more than 50 miles an hour, we'll probably arrive in time for lunch.

The only decision is - barbecue tea or in the pub?

Devon knows how they make it so dreamy...

We spent the weekend in Devon at the Elliott's and were joined by Gareth and Emma from Manchester. The weather was lovely and so Saturday afternoon was spent on the beach at Bigbury on Sea.

The girls lounged while the lads engaged in beach olympics. It felt like the first real day of summer to me - sun tan lotion, sand between your toes and then that stinging feeling on your legs and cheeks as you head home.

Gareth, Emma, Helen and Keith remain bemused by the blog, and blogging in general.

Oh well.

We spent the afternoon with Ems and Steve, Megan and Hannah on Monday. Megan was hysterical - potty training can be pretty funny!
Hannah is changing so quickly and has such chubby legs!!!
